Pressure brings out the best in you. But it can also quietly take over.
I work with people who thrive on pressure, and the organisations that rely on them.
Together we find and work with your edge: the point where pressure stretches you into your best thinking and judgement, and you keep growing through it without it costing you too much.
Understand your relationship with pressure. Eight questions, two minutes.
You may recognise yourself here.
You are the one people turn to when it matters. You deliver, you hold things together, and you like it that way.
Perhaps you are carrying it well and want to grow through it more deliberately. Perhaps you are ready for more stretch than you have right now. Or perhaps you have started to notice small things: decisions take longer, thinking feels crowded, you are shorter with people than you mean to be and evenings belong to work. It is taking more out of you than it used to.
The people who love pressure most are often the last to notice when it has taken over. The cost builds where no one sees it. Least of all you. I know, because I missed it too.
Capable people rarely lose their ability. They lose access to it.
Under sustained pressure, your stress response narrows what you can reach: clear thinking, steady judgement, patience with the people around you.
Most leadership development adds new skills on top. My work builds the human skills underneath, so you can steady yourself, keep hold of what you already have, and choose how you respond.
Your edge is where all of you stays within reach. You do your best work and keep growing, even as pressure stretches you. Below it, you stall and grow restless. Stay beyond it too long, and the wins may keep coming, but each one costs you a little more: in clarity, in patience, in the people around you.

I have lived at The Edge. And beyond it, more than once.
I trained as a biochemist, then spent twenty years in healthcare communications, growing a practice from £2m to £10m and sitting on a UK board.
I loved the pressure. I loved the chase and the wins. Until the day I realised there would never be enough hours to give.
I had the skills. I just met every stretch the same way: work longer, go deeper, think harder, write it again, chase perfection. But many of the challenges in front of me did not need more of me. Some were not mine to fix at all. Others needed a different me. Meeting them the same way kept me stuck beyond my edge, and it was costing me my energy, my time, my relationships and, slowly, myself.
What I was missing was the ability to slow down, see what the moment actually needed, steady my usual response and try something new. That is where I started to grow again. Now I help others do the same, so that success feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.
In their words.
“I was struggling to find my voice and the senior presence my new role required. Through coaching, I realised others saw me very differently from how I saw myself, and the pressure I put on myself was holding me back. Working with Catherine, I learned to choose how I show up. I now lead with the presence my role asks of me.
Associate Director of Patient Advocacy, Global Pharma Company
I approached the programme with a healthy degree of scepticism, having participated in numerous leadership and development programmes throughout my career. However, I found the experience incredibly insightful and genuinely impactful. It has helped me think differently about my leadership and focus on creating value for both myself and the people around me.
Client Director, Precision AQ
Catherine took me and my team on a journey that was eye-opening and surprisingly fun. It wasn’t just another team exercise; it was an experience that changed how we see ourselves and each other. We aligned on what really matters and learned how to work together in a way that feels more open, honest and effective.
